LEADERSHIP POLICY

Posted on October 26, 2017 at 5:35 PM Comments comments (0)

It has become apparent that some players understand where they rank in the wonderful world of DB yet do not fully understand the responsibilities of their role. Here is a list of what you may be required to perform day to day as a partiicipating leader of DB. Roles may require but are not limited to any and all details in this file.

NOTE: As a basic rule of leadersip there are certain things we require out of each person before we get into the details of each role.

1. Each Leader is expected to maintain a sense of decorum for their members and fellow leaders.

2. Each Leader is expected to handle each situation professionally to the point of their jurisdiction. Not all leaders have the same jurisdiction and if a situation poses itself against you that you do not feel confident enough to handle than it is requested that you pass it on to a leader higher in rank than your own so that they may handle it with the most accuracy.

3. A good leader knows his role as a leader and when his jurisdiction ends. He will not try to handle a situation he is not capable of handling. He will pass it on to someone of higher rank rather offend a member or give false information. It is as simple as telling a member something similiar to: "I cannot give you accurate information on that subject but if you would like to discuss that with my ranking officer their gamertag is _______ and I am sure they would be happy assist you."

4. A leader is professional and kind at all times. They do not stirn up confusion or tension between other members.

5. If it is possible, all situations need to be handled discreetly instead of publically. If a member "talks crap" on a public forum, message them first to repent the situation rather than heighten the embarrasment publically. If that member continues to embarrass themself than refer to DB policy. Copy and Pasting the rules is an easy way to clear up a situation and if that situation cannot be handled by you seek the assistance of a higher ranked member.

6. Only leaders can revoke the membership of a DB member. Any leader may professionally request a players membership to be pulled at anytime. A list of rules broken by the member are required as the clan is ran by a 3 strike method a member will not be kicked just because a leader has "beef" with a person of higher or lower rank. If you have beef than just grill it up and eat it.

7. A good leader quickly weighs the character of a member enough to know his own boundaries in conversation. If a member seems timid or insecure about something they present in their lifestyle do not make it a weakness. Encourage your members. The saying "Sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me" is one of the most false statements I have ever heard. WORDS DO HURT. Refer to rule number 1. There is a reason rule number one of our clan is "No disrespect."

8. All leaders are in charge of maintaining morale for the clan.

Each leader will do well to practice these basic methods of leading a team. Remember a dictator stands behind his people and tells them what to do, a leader stands in front of them and SHOWS them what to do. Never tell someone to do something you wouldn't do yourself.

Dying Breed Policy

1. No disrespect. No disrespect with other DB members will be tolerated. If a DB member lets you know that they’re serious and want you to stop talking to them then you are to stop talking to them immediately. If the problem persists refer to rule number 2.

2. If you have a problem with a DB member you are to mute that player and report your problem to one of the leaders immediately. You are not to heighten the tension between yourself and the other player. All problems are to be handled by the leaders and leaders only. There should never be a time when a player finds themself in an open argument online for te rest of the clan to witness. Be adults and Private Message one another in consious attempt to resolve the issue. Do not allow other members, especially new members or potential members, see you in an online argument with a fellow clan member. Obviously it sends a bad message to players. Be adults please and handle your problems in an adult-like manner.

3. If a DB member is being disrespected by another non-DB member player online than you are expected to defend your clan memebrs. It is preferred that members lessen tensions between online players instead of making problems worse. You never know; the player you are dissing could turn out to be a valued member of the clan in the future. Please do not start trouble between other clans. Allow Leaders to handle situations.

4. All Officers are expected to change their Gamertag within their first 30 days of promotion to a name that MUST be pre-approved by a leader before changing it. The name should begin with "xDBx " follwed by a single space and the main word you are refered as or a new short name people may call you. It is prefered that members choose a name that has one syllable with no more than 3 syllables. One or two is prefered highly. Ex. "xDBx Flashhy" or "xDBx Prophet" or "xDBx R3ALTALENT".

5. All DB members are to change their XboxOne Bio referencing DyingBreed 2017 and most importantly their Sponsor: KontrolFreek. Check the Bio of another member if you are uncertain of how to make it look. Our Sponsor requests that we do this within our bios. Please take the time. Do not be the reason your clan loses it's sponsorships. There are reps that check for this sort of thing. I want to stress that it is a serious manner. This rule goes for Sponsors.

6. If you decide that you want to pull your DB membership you are requested to let one of the leaders know and explain the situation. If we are able to prevent you from quiting we will take all possible measures.

7. No clan jumping will be tolerated. Your Clantag is to remain approved during the measure of your membership with Dying Breed and may only be changed if you are kicked or quit.

8. All extensive clan related questions must be answered by qualified officers and leaders only. These may include but are not limited to: Sponsorships, ProGaming, GB, MLG, Technical, Web, Online Presence, Recruitment, and Policy related questions. Please direct them to an online officer, if there is not one available please direct them to a Leader. If no one is available please give contact information or the website so that they may email, ([email protected]) or They can our Human Resources department at (501) 388-7573.

9. Members are expected and required to participate. Any DB member inactive for 30 days will lose their membership. If you are unable to participate we require that you check in with a Leader and let them know your situation so that you will not get kicked. In the event that you are kicked for being absent during a situation that you had no control of (Arrested, Drafted, Death in the family, Kidnapped, Sick, Hospitalized for a coma, or you just happen to get bit by a radioactive spider and have to commit your life to fighting crime in a rubber suit) then you need to plead your case with a leader and you may be given your membership back. A notice is required for an absence of more than two weeks. Also rest assured that there will be a final attempt in reaching out to you before loss of membership is considered. Please stay in touch with your clan and leaders! If you see other members of your clan online it is highly preffered (but not required) that you join them in their game to assist. Everyone likes winning and winning comes by assistance. Also, Online Presence is beneficial to the clan.

10. DB members that cause an excessive amount of trouble may be kicked and even blacklisted if all leaders come to that decision. Players may never again receive DB membership once they have been blacklisted.

11. Any DB member may refer a prospect for recruitment but only a leader may grant membership to a player.

12. All members must read, understand, and follow the DB policy.

13. No gossiping will be tolerated. If another member gossips you are expected to ask that player to stop or report them if it gets out of hand. Private Messaging is required in the event that you have an issue with a player. Keep your drama out of the chat rooms. Sarcasm, rude remarks, and otherwise childish behavior is unecessary and will not be tolerated. The first issue begins the 3 Strike Policy mentioned in rule 16.

14. No mutiny will be tolerated. Anyone is free to go as they please. If you decide to leave, that is your decision, if players choose to follow you that is their decision but do NOT attempt at bribing ot convincing other players to leave with you. This will result in automatic blacklistment for you and all players involved in the mutiny.

15. A player may no attend a practice if they are under the influence of Alcohol or Drugs. It causes too many problems and players are unable to properly focus on the game play. If a player is drunk or high they may be asked to leave that days practice. Also, further disciplinary measures may be taken depending on the intensity of situations that may occur. These measures are at the will of the 3 Leaders with or without the counsel of witnessing officers and are in conjunction with the 3 Strike Policy (Rule 16).

16. DB has a strict 3 Strike Policy. The first action taken on a player for an issue will be a verbal coaching. The next step will be a verbal coaching and 1 day suspension for each offense. The next step will be a verbal coaching and 3 day suspension. The next step will be a verbal coaching and a 7 day suspension. The final step will be a loss of membership if unanimously decided by all three leaders or in a necessary case, the majority of leaders.

17. A player who has lost membership may receive membership once again if unanimosly decided by all three leaders. Also note that in extreme cases where a player that continous to cause issues after the fact that they have lost membersip may be placed on a Blacklist, meaning that you may never again recieve membership. This decision is made by all three leaders.

18. No player may be discriminated against based on Race, Religion, Policitcal View, Life Style Choices, Language, or any other characteristic individualizing them. Please abstain from using hurtful slang such as "faggot", "nigger", "bible thumper", "cracker", etc. If you cannot maintain an open mind and enjoy certain topics with your fellow clan members than it is prefered that you exclude yourself from them. However these large topics are not against the rules to discuss. Do not tell a player they are not allow to discuss race, religion, or politics etc. Simply mute a player if you're unable to act maturely within the confines of the conversation. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and the wonderful thing about being human is there are so many different beliefs out there each with a justifiable means of self preservation. Be humble enough to enjoy a unique coversation with someone without becoming offended or offensive.

Rules broken and brought to the attention of the leaders may result in the kick and possible blacklistment of members. Rules and Policies may be edited, added, and/or removed pending future events as needed by Leaders only.

RECRUITING TIPS

Recruiting New Players

Recruiting new players can be difficult sometimes. Meeting new people, finding people interested, how to ask them if they want to join, and probably most important what to look for when recruiting.

Tips:

1. Always be on the look out for new members.

2. Pay attention to the players in your match.

3. When looking for slayers look for players that are getting 25 or more kills per game.

4. Don't be dishearented by rejections. Many high scoring slayers are either already in clans or else they are just not interested in the responsibility.

5. When looking for Objective-type players look for players that are getting a large amount of captures, collections, and plants.

6. It's easier to recruit when you have other clan members in the party. People like to know there is a following.

7. Pay attention to their attitude. Nobody wants to play with someone who is going to be annoying or rude all the time.

8. Don't gloat about the clan. The clan will speak for itself.

9. Let the player know the clan is sponsored by KontrolFreeks and more to come!

10. Sound enthused about your clan. Remember positivity.

11. Don't try to answer questions you don't know the answers to. Just let them know that someone else knows more about it and you'll let them answer their questions.

12. Benefits to being in a clan: Other players in a game. Mics that help you coordinate a match. Discounts on gaming gear from sponsors. A brotherhood and people you can rely on in a game.

13. If you're nervous about recruiting get with an experienced leader who can train you or just listen to them recruit until you're comfortable talking to people about joining the clan.

14. Share your positive experiences with other players. Tell them about the positivity and how well the clan works together and how fun we make the games.

DEFCON FIVE

Posted on October 26, 2017 at 5:05 PM Comments comments (0)

Welcome to Dying Breed!

Here are a few things you can expect from DB and what DB expects from you as well.

DEFCON FIVE:

1. RESPECT - Respect is the foundation of DB. The late founder lived by respect for others. He believed everyone deserved respect whether you were friend or foe. DB holds to that solid belief. So while you're in game chat DB expects you to show respect to all players. You never know, the person you're talking to could be a future member! You will always receive respect from other members of DB as well.

2. BIOGRAPHY - Our Sponsors have requested that we place their names within out Bios to reflect sponsorship. This is a requirement of all players. Do not be the reason your clan loses sponsorship. Please take the time after recruitment to change your Bio reflecting DyingBreed2017 and your sponsors: KontrolFreek.

3. PARTICIPATION - All members are expected to participate as often as possible. That being said, we understand that everyone has families, jobs, school, etc. so unless you are missing from clan participation for 30 Days or more, you shouldn't lose membership. If you know you're going to be absent for 2 weeks or more then just get with a clan leader or officer and let them know. Also note that if you are online and notice your clan is online as well please party up. Winning is fun.

4. DEDICATION - DB won't tolerate clan jumping. If a member sees your clan tag resemble any other clan it will mean the loss of your membership.

5. FUN - Have fun! This is a clan and we do have a lot of officail policies and rules but they are just here to protect players and not restrict them. Enjoy partying up with your fellow clan members and just have fun. Goodluck in The Dying Breed Community and BO3!
